2abodymcodes OP master 2 Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 2,502 Shelby, Ohio	just found out my radiator for my 42 dodge truck is shot. the local radiator shop wants anywhere from $1,100.00 to $1,700.00 to re-core the original. i don't want to spend that much on a radiator right now. i will have a stock late model 360 magnum in it. what do some people use in place of the original.

I just went through a radiator fitment problem with my 47 Desoto w/318. I bought a used aluminum universal fit radiator for a small block chevy, thinking it would work. I was very wrong. you might be able to get it to work if you used an electric fan. the inlet/outlet are to close together, I have the cut to fit hose kit and could not get it to work. the water pump sticks down to far. Its hard to find a radiator that is taller than it is wide for cheap. the only one I found and bought was this one- sorry i cant get the link to work, speedway motors Item # 9175159 it fit great and looks great. I did easily make my own brackets.
