Had a Bob's Profab tubular k frame and coil over installed. The front height was ok, I guess, until I dropped motor and tranny in. Now it sets too low, I think. I cranked the spanner nut up, but it then occurred to me I am changing the spring load by compressing it. I plan on 4 corner scaling when I get everything ready. How do you determine initial coils to get started?

PS: also new 4 link in rear. I know nothing about coil overs.

Determine the stroke of the shock first. After you have figured that you will want 40% of the shaft sticking out at ride height. That will give you 60% for extension. What springs are on the front of the car?

If its a bb car then that is close. Might be a bit on the high side but that is ok. Does it have a part number for the shock?

Set the lower nut 1" from the bottom... install everything
and if it drops down the the 40% point then its good...
if you need more than 1" of adjustment change the springs

Hi James,
I'm doing ok. Been awhile since my car was track worthy. Made some changes as you can see. Trying to sort some things out and keep it shiny side up when the time comes.
