Well I fell into a SCREAMING deal on a R3 block today. Appears to be a very early block (prototype?). 59 degree, 4 bolt main, siamese bore, 318/340 intake, 10 head bolts. The only odd thing is it's a 9.200" deck.
What the heck am I supposed to do for an intake?!
It was so cheap though, I could afford to get a sheet metal intake made for it and still be ahead... lol
cool where do you find it ? I'm looking for a 59 degree block myself

What heads?
Be nice with set of 59* w9s. :-)
The problem with that block may be cam that block got machined with 48* bearings and 59* lifters.
They did some cam cores to fix this at one point.
I've got a set of these heads

What cam tunnel is in it? Might not be all that great of a deal.
- Do some research first on the cam tunnel

Whoa that scared me... Had to go out to the garage to make sure. Whew... No problems, it measures stock cam journal sizes.
W9? Hmmmmm... It'd have to be a good deal for me to go that route, sort of a pain to use.... High dollar rockers, unique headers, etc...
I'm just glad with my planned upgrades, I don't need to be the one to test a stock block at 800hp+ now in the spring! Scary enough at 700hp+ this past year!
