Anybody using this set up on a street/strip car?

Like/Hate/ it's ok??????

I have caltracs on the demon and the mancini xhd springs and would like to get the rear a little lower plus get the weight off the ole girl.

iron headed, cross rammed hemi, dana 60, 727 all steel body and weighs in at 3720 with me in it and full of fuel.

My Cuda has seen plenty of street miles with mono's and Caltrac's on it. No issues what so ever. 1.48 sixty foot, drive it to the car show the next day...

I love how level it sits left to right with them on it. I love how it hooks like a ladder bar car....

Tons of street miles on mine, best is a 1.32 60ft. On a 275/60/15 drag radial.

I run them on my Cuda. In my opinion they ride much better than the SS springs they replaced. At the track there is no comparisson. They hook hard and consistant.

and probably lighter in weight as well compared to the stacked SS springs.

No problem for street use. Of course you gotta back the bars way off so you can have some travel. If you are looking to lower it, keep this in mind. I replaced a good set of 3800 lb springs with "stock height" single leaf Caltracs and my car sat 1" higher. Had to install 1" spacers to get it back down where I wanted it. They do offer 1" higher, stock height, and 1" lower springs.

I use the mono's also and they do ride better than the ss spring. the 002/003 ss springs weight the same as the mono/caltrac set up,just to let ya know.

I have driven my car with caltracs on the street and stock springs for the past 3 years, and this year upgraded to the mono's. With both springs I drive on the street with the bars setup just how they are at the track (0 preload, bars just touching) and no issues. I will say the ride has gotten stiffer with the mono's, but I didn't build the car to be a cadillac on the street.

I'd say you'd be fine

This is how the car looks from the side view.

I went out and looked today and with the offset I have on my wheel I dont think I will be able to really lower the rear.

This is with the mancini xhd springs.

Would you guys order the stock, -1 or +1 or leave it alone and let it settle in

Thanks
Scott

2 years on mine now with no troubles at all. The car is actually real comfortable with no preload in the bars. I'm currently running Summit shocks, and I have a lot of body lift (more than I care for). But it flat sticks & goes, and is pretty consistant. My car's not terribly fast, but its a good reliable street / strip runner.
