Does anyone make a replacement? Van's lists just about everything but...

Thanks!

I don't think they are reproduced anymore. There was a batch made a few years back, you sometimes see them pop up on Ebay or the dealer might be able to get them still. Like all the others the sender isn't accurate though. They go for about $150-$180

That's what I was afraid of.

Thanks for the info.

I have found a place that rebuilds them. Maybe I'll go that route when I get that far.

NOS senders for the 80's models are $200+ on Ebay when you can find them.

I have in the past used a Wema tank sender & had my IT friend solder a diode or resister or something in the line to make it or you can do what I do now when I use them which is taking a fuel gauge apart & refitting it into the stock cluster

Wema makes them whatever length you need & you won't need another one ever again

Thanks for the info.

After laying under this thing doing a trans swap, I'm kinda leaning toward putting a cell in it anyway. This thing will eventually be a hot rod toy, and the driveshaft that close to a plastic tank makes me nervous.

My rear shaft twisted in half at a red light

That's what I did; replaced the plastic tank with a cell in the bed and I was able to run 3" dual exhausts down both sides with the tank out. I eventually will be putting some kind of cover on the bed to hide/protect the cell.

any way to make the earlier model work? is the mounting ring the only difference? if so, might be just as easy to swap the mount, from an older tank onto yours. or, just swap to an 80 or earlier tank. those sending units are pretty common.

Isn't it amazing that a driveshaft would break sitting at a red light...

Not at the light but about six foot out where the tires finally bit
It got a fuel cell after that
It ran 7.40's in the 1/8 street driving everyday with a stock tank
