Went to Reher-Morrison this morning to have some XRP hoses made and promptly got a really nice tour of their facility. Lots of nice CNC equipment and many completed engines waiting for pickup. I was drooling over this big, billet hunk of aluminum that was a brand X, 860cid, 4 stage nos engine. The traveler laying on top of the engine had the total cost.....$109K

Can you imagine paying for an engine like that, and getting the timing or somthing wrong, and it comming back for a total rebuild in a couple of runs?

Its nice to dream, that is for sure.

I got that same shop tour a couple of years ago. They even had a couple Hemis lying around there. Not to mention an old Pro Stocker on one of the shelves. We even got to watch while they dynoed a couple of bullets

Since his is only half the size, it only cost half as much.

He uses a crimped end not a screw together fitting so it needs a press and dies to do it.

860 ci and 4 guns? $109 K sounds reasonable.

Sonny's Racing Engines (Sonny Leonard) is down the road from me, kinda neat to see some of the work that comes out of their shop. I would like to have a Sonny's 5" bore space Hemi for my Dakota PST.

Back in 1992 Sonnys built me a 632" donavan with big chief heads on it. It went 198 in a dragster, never could get 200 without nitrous.

As is Jeremy, the guy you talk to when ordering a motor. They are all very nice and everything they sell is quality.
