1972CudaV21 OP master Joined: Jul 2003 Posts: 3,267 Connecticut	Hello, I was just wondering if Dodge made a 2500 series during the years 2000 - 2002, with a diesel, 2WD, a regular cab and a sport bed (short)?

cascius member C Joined: Mar 2011 Posts: 147 Kansas	Although I've never seen a regular cab 2wd 24 valve truck, I would bet they made them. You could never get a short bed with a regular cab though in a 2500. They did make a Sport package which got the painted bumpers, grill and body side moldings.

I'd figure you'd see a lot of them in KS. They're not as common as 4X4s or Quad Cabs, but they're out there. I've seen quite a few in OK. As far as a factory shortbed with a Cummins - nope. Chrysler never built any. Don't forget the Sport package also had painted tail lights. The body side moldings were optional. OIF V and OEF X veteran and proud of it!

So you know what you're looking at, below are the standard and Sport versions of these trucks. BTW, only the 99-02 Sports looked like this. The 94-98 Sports had standard grilles and bumpers that were painted instead of chrome.

The Sport grille is taller than a standard one, and the bumper has a recess molded in to compensate. That silver 02 is sweet! I have only seen three silver Sport trucks in real life. I have all the parts to make mine just like it, but they need to be painted. It would look like a dalmation otherwise.
