Use it as a pusher and put the fan in front of the radiator???

If the MODS did their job I would not be hitting the notify MOD button. LOL

isn't it harder to cool a car with a pusher type fan?

I had the same problem. I used 2 smaller fans that are mounted diagonally. Cools ok, but would be better if I mounted them on a shroud.

Same fan just reverse the wires. Your still pushing or pulling the same air flow.

I have a griffin rad with a I think 18" fan as a puller ! Rad is in the standard location ! It's real tight and getting the rad out is a pita but it fits ! I run an electric water pump though ?

I've got a pusher on my barracuda, doesn't over heat. and yes it doesn't work as well but it does work.

on my dart i am using a summit 27.5x19 aluminum rad, a ford 3.8 tours(spelling) electric fan and a summit electric water pump, which is really a CVR brand water pump. so far it has kept my mid ten second big block dart cool. i hope to drive this car on the street next year.my radiator core support has not been changed but that does sound like a good ideal for me room.here is a pic of my set up. thanks Mopar65

Elec. water pump and HHR elec. fan tight but works great..........move the radiator as stated and you should be fine.

I was dealing with the same issue. Still not able to keep it cool all the time but very manageable. I am thinking about throwing a t stat in it to see if slowing the water flow a bit cools it a little better.

By HHR do you mean the Chevrolet HHR?

That cools a big block on the street? If so I'm definitely getting one...do I want a genuine GM part, or will aftermarket replacement work just as well?

How much more room do you need to do exactly what you want? If it is a real small amount, you might be able to set the motor back enough to get there without anything more than slotting a hole or two. Plus you just shifted 800 lbs back a touch. The other thing that comes to mind is build, or use a very good sealing shroud. any leakage around the edges takes away from the system efficiency.
