Yes its a common rail, you don't have the lift pump problems like you did in the VP44 trucks. At some point you will need injectors in it somewhere around 150k miles.

Hope you aren't planning on the "Champion" check to help cover the expense of the new truck??? 'Cause I plan on abusing you at the bar for most of it!

Find out if the fuel pump is in the tank or not, the pump on the filter is a weak point. Many have replaced and gone with aftermarket.

I know I should probably change the pump in my 04, 305/555, but at 180k it's still working fine. In fact everything is original in it, including the batteries and it runs like new.

Chrysler replaced some of the lifts pumps under warranty. Not all have changed, some of them really worked.
Use good quality fuel filter and change it once a year. Should extend the life of the injectors.
Next time you look under the hood, check the water pump for leaks, serpentine belt for cracks. Also the belt tensioner sometimes needs to be replaced, dont use the cheapest rockauto stuff.
My 03 model also needed front wheel bearing/hub in 198k miles. I bought the best SKF i could find.
you could put a smarty/bullydog/edge and add tons of power to it but the TCC will fail if it is stock.
