The calipers and hoses are original. The Rear pads were worn the same on both sides. The truck does not swerve or pull to either side under any braking condition.
I understand the idea that the front brakes could quickly overheat if the rears were not working. I checked the rotors with the wheels still on and couldn't see any discoloration that may indicate a hot spot. Maybe a visual check wasn't adequate.
Here is a weird fact: The rears went 119,000 miles before the pads touched the rotors. I was commuting 226 miles per day and I got behind on maintenance. The fronts lasted longer than the rear. I replaced the front pads at about 124,000 miles. When have you ever seen REAR brakes wear out before the fronts?
I'll readily admit that I am an aggressive driver. I like to corner hard and that certainly means that I am on the brakes a bunch.
I'm pulling the rotors in a few minutes. I'm going to ask the guy to check them for runout before doing any work to them.

I think only the solid axle 4x4 trucks were big on the death wobble...

As stated we had more problems with factory and hi buck rotors and drums than the cheap ones.My Durango I did frt pads and rotors on about 5 years ago.Advanced stuff. Its still going strong. My kids 04 Ram Hemi same thing. He beats the snot out of it also. After doind thousands of brakes Im pretty much an expert. If the front were hanging you would know real quick.I know been there. If the rears werent doing anything the pedal should be real low and the rotors should have no wear and lots of rust.Old GM cars were noted for that as the park brake adjusted the rears and the pins stuck in the calipars.Rocky

Just get the rotors on a brake lathe and end this thread. Its warped rotors period.

Think so?
I took the 4 month old fronts rotors in along with the old rear rotors. All 4 had some light grooves even though I never went metal to metal with them. All 4 had some runout, but guess what?
The FRONTS were the worst! The man said they weren't terrible, but they were out by a few thousands. He didn't put a dial indicator on them, just rotated them while adjusting the cutting tool.
At home I went for a drive. I never got to do a 70 to zero stop, but I did do a few stops from 60. All the shake is gone. The real test will be in tomorrows drive home in heavy traffic.
Thanks to all, especially The Rocks!

Just remember to be easy on the brakes for a while. Most times they get overheated when new or just cut.I always told customers to use the brakes light for about 100 miles. It gives the pads and rotors a chance to seat in good.Glad I was of help.Rocky

My daily commute is over 180 miles, so I'm good to go.
The truck was like new today. Thanks again!
