I was told by Dave Smith at Pro Trans that I would have to adjust and reset the front band after 25 runs with a aluminum drum in my 727 I would check it after 25 runs and write down how much adjustment it took and do it agian after 25 runs and see how much wear has occurred.
Did it need adjusting? And did you see any ET or MPH changes?

I bought a transmission from John at CRT, back in 2004 or 2005. I adjusted mine after about 20 to 25 runs. Adjustment barely changed. I did change my fluid and filter every 25 to 35 runs. I checked band adjustment every time I changed the fluid and filter. It never changed much after the 1st time. After 2 years, the tranny was freshened up by John at CRT. I ran it for 4 or 5 more years with the aluminum drum. Last year I had it rebuilt, and we installed A steel billet drum. It runs the same et's and m.p.h. But I don't have to change the fluid and filter as often, or adjust the bands . I changed the fluid once this year, when I tried a different converter.

I put that trans. in my Duster and broke the 8 3/4 in 1st gear which ended up hurting the high dollar all out race trans so I don't have more than 6 runs on it now I have it sitting on the bench so I will get it apart and get it fixed, it will end up in my new race car next year, more to come BTW, this one has all straight cut gears,2.59 low gear ratio, oilimg mods and front and rear aluminum drums, it is a older SS/AH 727 race trans. Dave built it back in the mid 1990s originally that I ended up taking in trade on motor work
