don't forget the temp. control valve in the heater hose, might not be opening all the way.

Check your temp gauge to see if the temp come up to correct temperature.

Use a temp gun if needed.

Check both lines leading into and out of the heater core. Both should be hot when the heater is on 'hot' If they are not both hot, water is not flowing thru. Check the heater control valve.

Start with the coolant level. Low coolant can cause the heater core to run dry and then, no heat. It happens alot.

You may never even know it's low since it may not be overheating. Remember a truck's cooling systems has extra capacity for the extra loads they carry.

*Low Coolant Level
*Air lock in the heater core
*Plugged heater core
*Stuck/sticking/fauly blend door or heater control valve (coolant)
*Thermostat

First thing to do is make sure the cooling system is full. Put the truck on an incline and let it warm up with the heater on full the entire time..running it without the cap may help as well (just be ready to put it on when the thermostat opens up). You may find some air works out and you gain your heat back. That is a very common occurance in german vehicles atleast.

So what was the temp going into and out of the firewall on the heater hoses.

If it is hot going into and out of then look at the air blend door. It's under the dash.

Allen Here's a novel idea, let's not throw a bunch of parts at the car hoping it will fix the problem and instead spend a little time diagnosing it first. Life was a little easier when I was just a wrench.

If by chance the hoses to the heater core were "switched", that can cause no heat or very little.

I second the water control valve. Is yours actuated by vacuum or a cable? You might have a bad diaphram or vacuum leak.
