I've only used the B body bumpers, fit was like factory, chrome is not triple plated, just nickel/chrome like factory, the finish on the bumpers I used was better than OEM, but not "showcar" triple plate quality, I was more than satisfied with them for a stock type resto

I agree with Mike. If you don't have good cores, these are acceptable for most guys and certainly drivers. Buy, bolt on, and motorvate.

Any reports on the Challenger bumpers? I have two sets of originals but none of them are straight, chrome shop wants $1300 to rechrome and I'd be okay with that but not if they don't come out straight. Any waves in the Challenger ones?
Sheldon
Supposedly AMD retooled the E body bumpers after too many complaints on fit/finish....I haven't seen/heard anyone's feedback on recent E body bumper purchases

Check with your local chrome platers as well...
Half for a new bumper compared to what "local" plating guys wanted. When I say local, I mean one state over.
I was quoted $350.00 for my rear 'Cuda bumper a couple months ago - New England Chrome - I'm sure you've heard of them. They do quality triple chrome plating. I'd much rather have my original bumper re-chromed.

If so, I'd jump on that quote....New England Chrome wanted $750 to triple plate my 70 Charger rear bumper, and $250 for the bumperettes....that was back in 2004

I know out here on the "wet coast" of Canada, that I was quoted exactly that from a plater...750.00 PER bumper for my GTX.... IF they were decently straight. Any big repairing would be extra. Seemed a little out of line if you ask me. I ended up going with AMD's I got thru a fellow in Alberta....not the show chrome that some anal's would like to see, but certainly nice. And at $350.00 EACH, an obvious choice. I've had a few people ask me where I got the bumpers from, and they were quite surprised that repro's could be that quality.Maybe I got lucky and just managed to get them from a good batch...but I would certainly go that route again.

Anyone order bumpers from AMD yet? Seems like a good deal for what I need. AMD tells me they are new stamped pieces with no core charge.
Looking for opinions..
Chris
I have used the 68 Plymouth Road Runner bumpers on two of my restorations. I was very happy with the fit and the chrome was just fine. For the price they are well worth it. I will be buying more from AMD
