Its Not A Hemi OP I Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 159 New York, USA	1968 Plymouth Road Runner, I know that an under-hood 'Air Induction' was not available on the early and mid-year cars, but very late in the 1968 production run Plymouth offered this option. Only a handful of 1968 Road Runners came through with this unit, as a late-year service bulletin was sent to the dealers in May 1968, offering this option. ???? topside Too Many Posts Joined: Jan 2003 Posts: 20,813 A collage of whims	Sorry, but no dice. Closest they got was drawing up an illustration, but it didn't happen until the '69 model year. The illustration I'm referring to clearly shows the '68 hood, which is likely the source of the confusion, but no such sold cars have ever surfaced. Nor have I never seen it in a dealership order guide.

Are you talking about the actual box and assembly that bolts to the hood or are you talking about the change in the design of the under hood bracing? I was able to order my 69 Runner equipped the way I wanted in about July 0f 68 so that it would be at the the dealer for the annual new car showing.

Its Not A Hemi OP I Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 159 New York, USA	I just read that an 'added option bulletin' was sent to the Plymouth Dealers in the latter part of the 1968 sales season. Most dealers didn't even bother adding the literature to their Option Order Book, as there were only 4-Weeks left in the 1968 Road Runner Production run. It was called an under hood air-induction system. No labeling on the fiberglass under-hood unit, and no decal on the Oval-shaped Air Cleaner. Last edited by Its Not A Hemi; 10/30/13 10:30 PM.
