1968 Plymouth Road Runner,

I know that an under-hood 'Air Induction' was not available
on the early and mid-year cars, but very late in the 1968
production run Plymouth offered this option.

Only a handful of 1968 Road Runners came through with this unit,
as a late-year service bulletin was sent to the dealers in May 1968, offering this option.

Sorry, but no dice. Closest they got was drawing up an illustration, but it didn't happen until the '69 model year. The illustration I'm referring to clearly shows the '68 hood, which is likely the source of the confusion, but no such sold cars have ever surfaced. Nor have I never seen it in a dealership order guide.

I don't think a service bulitin would have been sent that early. Maybe something was drawn out but not officially sent to all dealers

Are you talking about the actual box and assembly that bolts to the hood or are you talking about the change in the design of the under hood bracing?

Air grabber was made available with the 1969 model year for both the Runner and Super Bee. I was able to order my 69 Runner equipped the way I wanted in about July 0f 68 so that it would be at the the dealer for the annual new car showing.

I just read that an 'added option bulletin' was sent to the
Plymouth Dealers in the latter part of the 1968 sales season.

Most dealers didn't even bother adding the literature to their
Option Order Book, as there were only 4-Weeks left in the
1968 Road Runner Production run.

It was called an under hood air-induction system.

No labeling on the fiberglass under-hood unit, and no decal on the
Oval-shaped Air Cleaner.

We know the literature exists. What are you trying to say? Do you have proof of any 1968 model year fresh air cars?

Is the illustration on the 1968 proposed unit the same as that
went on the 1969 Model year Cars.

Any idea of the last production date of the 1968 Road Runner.....?
