i didn't respond to that because you are probably right. you blew out the valve and fuel is pouring in.

You fellows need to get away from the constant blown power valve theory,it could have happened but very uncommon.I've been working with Holley carbs for 30 + years and have yet to find a blown power valve,a lot that were dried out and rotted but none ever blown. This is directly from Holley Tech literature.

Thanks for the pictures.
I didn't run them through the cutter like that and didn't cut it tight enough to the flare.
Sorry for the side track.

I can't afford this. mark

Well that was terrible....I am going to order another set of lines....I got these to work after a ludicrous amount of effort. On top of everything else the reason I was screwing around with the center carb was to use a different power valve as I had more vacuum than I initially thought when I was adjusting the mixture screws (which worked before)...but in the course of events I backfired like a shot gun and think I killed the new one....as now I can close the mixture screws and it still runs....really running rich...very frustrated as I am likely my own worst enemy

Don't feel bad...I had mine backfire twice while adjusting the carbs. The 1st time it ripped my muffler apart the second time it took out my exhaust manifold gasket.
