Fitted a new MP camshaft a few weeks ago and there was no purple paint on it. It also had the part number etched on it, something I've never seen before.

Almost all hydraulic and flat tappet cams that are cast cores ( such as yours) are made by the same company ( or two). The cam you have is the same as you might see from a shelf Comp Cams or any of the cast camshafts. The cam core company supplies cores, then others may grind, tap, do the bolt holes etc. CWC is just the casting. Most of the Comp Cam hydraulic and flat tappet shelf type grinds, arent done in house. The other mentioned companies actually do all the work. In the case of a full on custom, then Comp ( and the others ) MAY grind their own.

Chase is correct,it is Camshaft Machine Co.,and they have been grinding the MP cams since the 80's,and probably before then.
Nautilus Racing-
We use Superformance gaskets and Turbo Action converters/products.

I THINK the CWC stands for the Campbell Wyant and Cannon foundry. They cast a ton of parts for everybody over the years. Still in business as a part of Textron.

That is correct. At one time they were claimed to do almost 75% or more of all the cams. ( these types anyhow)
