I have two 440 aluminum intakes and am getting rid of one of them. I have a Holley Street Dominator and an Edelbrock Performer 440. I will keep the one that would be most streetable and give me the best mileage. It will be used on a stock 440- not interested in hp, just the most "docile" of the two.

Performer will be docile, streetable and mileage king.
Street Dominator will give more horsepower, yet still be very streetable. It should also return pretty good mileage.
You'll get more $$$ from the SD when you sell it, as well, so keep the Perf, even though you should brace yourself for a slew of posts saying the opposite, mainly because board members tend to like horsepower over manners.

340valnt, both are dual plane. Carb is factory original used on 350 hp 440.

The SD runs like a single plain but is dual plane.Ive had mine since they first came out.Its now on my kids 413 but was on my 440.I went to M1 with a Dominator for the street. The SD gets at least 3 to 4000 miles a year and raced also.Rocky

I have a street dominator, it did not play well with my heavy car

I would sell that, stick with a dual plane

Sell 'em both & buy a Performer RPM. That would be my choice.

Almost! Id have to keep the SD, just because its such a great intake. You may want it later.

I just couldn't bring myself to either sell the SD or to keep the good as stock Performer....
I vote for a TQ bolted on the SD. I bet it will better MPG that square bore Lack-of-Performer anyway.

Ron you are right. My thinking is getting bad.As for a SD on a heavy car my kids 62 300 weighs a ton.The SD on the 413 runs great. The SD gets pretty much the most HP and has great street manners.Rocky

Hands down, the Performer is the one you want to use for what you have described.

I would run the Performer but keep the SD unless you REEEEEEALLY need the money. If you need every penny then sell the SD. Keep in mind if you ever do your 440 up for the performance it is legendary for the Performer intake will be a restriction. AND if the SD is no longer available new you may want to hold onto yours. The SD is a high perf intake that does not sit as high as the Performer RPM.

Keep old mopars alive.
