I'm putting a A518 tranny in my Dart Sport from a 360 externally balanced setup. My question is would it be better to use the original flex plate from the 360 engine and remove the weight for my internally balanced 318 or buy an aftermarket designed for internal balance.

Basically what I want to know is if removing the weight will weaken the plate.

Thanks

I'd think you'd want a regular 727 flexplate for the neutral balanced 318 or an aftermarket neutral 727 flexplate. More clarification please

Id use the flexplate off the 360 donor and grind off the weld for the weight on the torque converter.. cant be any cheaper or simple.

I am truckless..
