In really good condition, 176K on the clock. This is a 518 non lock up with 3.54's 2WD. I was wondering what kind of fuel mileage you guys are getting with yours and if you are using any fuel conditioner with the ULSD and the mechanical injection pump.

I have to fix the A/C first before I start driving it on a regular basis, the compressor is locked up. I'll get some pics up later this week.

I was pulling down 22mpg with my 93 2wd in stock form with an aftermarket converter. No pump mods, etc.

Congrats! Clean 1st gens are hard to come by.

I'm knocking down 24 mpg straight freeway and 19 mixed with my 92 auto 4x4. It does have the basic pump mods - highly recommended.

I run diesel kleen as an additive. I had a weird hanging idle issue (non runaway) that running a lubing additive cured.

in my 93 4x4 I would only get 19mpg, it had a stage II diesel converter, major pump mods, fuel pin, and pump timing adjustments. It was borderline runaway and had a fuel cut off pull cable just in case.

Also the "smoke" screw was set to roll coal by the prior owner, and I never had it reset.

I'm sure had it been adjusted a bit more conservative it would have done better

Yeah my mods are fairly conservative in order to save the stock trans. 1.5 turns on the power screw, a m&h stage 3 fuel pin, 366 gov spring and a 1/8" timing bump. Oh and a 4" straight exhaust.

I've thought about a turbo and injectors but honestly right now it will pull anything I own without breathing hard and its pretty peppy so why mess up a good thing...

I agree. I had to keep an eye on the pyrometer on mine when towing. It would tow anything, but if I wasn't watchful it would get into the hot zone.

Swapping out the stock converter for an aftermarket diesel converter is about the best mod you can make on these trucks. And if you dont go crazy with the power mods the stock trans holds up just fine.

I had a well built trans installed in mine just because of the power range I was working with.

Cool!!

I have a '92 D350 with the Getrag 5 speed. Has the KDP (dowel pin) been fixed? I guess with 176k on it, probably so. Enjoy it

I have no clue if the KDP has been fixed or not, something I might want to look into.

Well so far I spent $400 for a new compressor, h-valve and drier to find out the evaporator has a large leak. So another $115 for an evap and heater core.

After driving newer trucks for the past 10 or so years I forgot how much fun this was.

Still not bad considering the $2500 purchase price, 4 oil filters and one fuel filter I got in the deal.

OK, I know it took awhile but here are a few pics of the truck.

So far I had the top blue part painted because of surface rust. I had to replace the hood ($70 from the local u pull it) because it had a bug deflector on it with leaves caked in there for a decade. Otherwise rust free. Not even a tear in the seats. I got a black vinyl floor mat to replace the carpet and fixed the A/C and put in a new heater core.

It delivered 21.5 MPG on it's first full week of commuting. I've since done some pump mods and advanced the timing. All free stuff, I'll see how it does before I start spending money for an exhaust system and injectors. But so far I am very happy with it.

I am thinking about a first generation dodge diesel truck. I know of one for sale I have seen pictures but have not seen truck in person. it looks good from what I have seen of it. it is a 1992 dodge w 250 4x4 extended cab 12 valve diesel. it has new injection pump and lift pump timing slightly increased, hx35 turbo,5 inch exhaust, m and h m4 fuel pin, m and h spacer. the sychro is starting to go ot of third gear but he says it doesn't affect the driving of the truck. he has done a lot of work to the truck he is asking $10,000 for the truck is he out of line with this price. the truck is a 5 speed 207,000 miles.

In my part of the country it wouldn't take long to sell that truck IMO

Ah, wow. I guess I got a pretty good deal. Even with everything I've done so far I'm still only into the truck for about $3500. There was one local for sale with a 5 speed and 321K on it with a very rusty roof for $4800.
