RapidRobert Circle Track R Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 36,041 Lincoln Nebraska	Rick Eberg recommended using some high temp wheel bearing grease melted & mixed in with iirc 85-90 gear oil. I dont remember the exact proportions( I have it copied some where) but it might be online at Mopar Action if a person wanted to check it out. live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

When I went to the dealer to get the grease Eberg mentioned they gave me a tube of 4318046 & said that was the superseded # but it was the same stuff. 69Cuda340S master Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 3,333 MARYLAND	Firm Feel told me to pack as much grease in mine as I can and then top it off with gear oil. If you stick a grease gun in the filler hole you can pump the grease in and completely fill it.

In the lubrication section, it clearly states to use gear oil. In the repair section, it clearly states not to use gear oil. One explanation might be that the gear oil was used to replenish the liquid lost from the grease and helped the grease stay in a semi-liquid state rather than the waxy state brought on by the lose of oil. 4820175-SteeringBoxLube2.jpg (44 downloads)
