What is the pipe thread size for the fittings that screw into the case that the hard lines attach to? '71 TF904.

1/8" NPT is what I remember for the 904 and 727 Chrysler transmissions. If not correct there will be more responses I am sure.

Thanks for the reply. I swear it looks bigger but I'm not sure. Can someone confirm this? I want to go buy something for it before I take it out so I would like to have the size now. I suppose I could get both 1/8" and 1/4" to be on the safe side. Anyone know for sure?

1/8" NPT is correct unless somebody enlarged the case.

John I've been wondering about this, I've seen the brass fittings that are the next size up (1/4 NPT?) & use 3/8 inverted flare prefabbed brake lines. My Q is (with a 3/8 tube cooler) would all that give more flow for better cooling or are the passages inside the trans smaller than the fittings which that would be the limiting factor so that using larger lines etc outside would be a waste

1/8" it is. I bought both to be sure. I thought for sure it was 1/4". The 1/8" does seem small even with 5/16" lines. All is fixed now, no more leak. This stopped me from spending a beautiful day at Budds Creek in MD for a full day of test & tune. Oh well, still have 3 more chances in Nov.
Thanks all for the info!
