Installed my steering column and saw the service manual mentions installing a ground jumper from the column to the dash studs.

While it seems to make reasonable sense, I didn't have a ground jumper, checked my copious pictures and nothing.

So did all e-bodys have jumpers? perhaps AAR's didn't? or maybe this is a post 1970 thing?

Thanks for the information

All old mopars of that era have one.

5th picture down on this thread shows one.

I'm not sure E-Bodies did have them, I recall this being discussed in a previous post.
Let's put it like this, my 71 did not have one when I disassembled it, and had functioned perfectly well for my entire ownership like that.
When I put it all back together, I did make one anyway, I think with all the painting/coating of all the local components I had interrupted the ground path.

The horn switch ground wire is only used on columns that require plastic "sliders" as part of the driver/impact design of the steering column support bracket. Since all E body bracket to dash attaching points are metal-to-metal, the horn ground is therefore achieved.

Great, so as long as I do a validation of continuity between the column crush can (Folgers can) and the dash I should be good.

Wonder why the servise manual doesn't mention that grounding straps are not required for E-body's, perhaps just another oversight

Between all '66 to '74 MOPAR models, the E body platform is the only design with columns that did not utilize the horn ground wire #2857741.
