Remember Charlie Hill's "Dirty Thirty" Gasser? It was followed up with the "Filthy Forty".

Every time I think of a named race car, I first think of "Deputy Dodge".

I almost always liked any Chevy race car with a certain name on the door too...

"Ramcharger Candymatic" Reminds me of a story a friend of mine tells. He was a young guy in Pennsylvania and at his local track the top dog was a 409 Chevy and it belonged to Dave Strickler. One week end in 1962 a Dodge from out of town showed up at the track. My friend Leroy said it was the ugliest thing they had ever seen and to make matters worse the darned thing had an automatic in it. Everyone knew race cars had sticks. Anyway at the end of the day it end up the ugly dodge against Stricklers chevy for top eliminator. The Dodge cleaned the chevys clock. Strickler in disbelief challenged the Dodge to a rematch and the results were the same.I asked him if he remembered the Dodge guys name or the name of the car and all he could remember was the Dodge said "Mean with 413" on it. He said no one there could believe the Dodge beat the local Hero.

In my opinion the best name ever for a drag car was Color Me Gone, but I like cars with names, thats why mine is the HUSLIN HILLBILLY, named that because I am originally from Kentucky, really probably should have been my Moparts handle.

Cannot find a pic, but if your from the WI/IL area.........

Spartacus

And Son Of Spartacus

Chris DeSalvo recently had the car for sale:

http://www.racingjunk.com/post/1077472/1964-DODGE-ALUMINUM-HEMI-CAR-SPARTACUS.html

Accidently ran into Chris at Jefferson swap meet few years ago. Selling extra parts.

Was proably the first Race only Mopar I had seen with a name on it.

Doc.

I used to care but....... things have changed
