That depends on you, I've installed 2's & 3's, I prefer 3's but a friend bought a 3 on my recomendation & didn't like it...Pulled it out & sent it back, they swapped him a stage 1 which he loves...

I am used to the stock feel, put a stage 2 on my 71, wish I would have went with a stage 1. Can't imagine how stiff a 3 would be.

I put a II in my 68 charger with a big block. the II is pretty stiff and I wouldn't want it any stiffer for normal street driving.

I put a stage III in my '70 b body and I LOVE it!!

Gives a nice firm feeling and great response/road feel but still very easy on the arms.

Gary.

Same here, Stage III,......I've driven other cars with Stages I and II, those stages are fine if your running a smaller dia steering wheel, like a Tuff wheel, or aftermarket small dia wheel, if your running the factory Charger woodgrain or standard wheel.....IMHO you'll benefit more with the Stage III because the larger dia steering wheel will give you more "leverage" to take advantage of the Stage III "feel"

I have a stage 2 and wish I'd gone for the stage 3. Firm Feel was very nice about it when I called them and they offered to swap it to a stage 3, but life got busy and I never got around to taking the box back off and shipping it back.

Dayclona makes a good point about large steering wheels giving you more leverage.

I like the feel of new cars with rack and pinion steering and lots of road feel. In my case with a large wheel, stage 2 isn't even close.

I have 2 Stage 2's , which are really nice, but I will try a 3 next time.

And if the wheel is too hard to turn, you are not going fast enough

Reality check, that half the population is smarter then 50% of the people and it's a constantly contested fact.

thanks for all your responses.
i am thinking stage III is the right one for me.
i will use 1" torsion bars , 1 1/4 sway bar, tubular upper arms all from firm feel. i hope the ride will be stiff , but not very very hard to turn the wheel.
thanks George.
