I have a 74 Scamp and was wanting to know how hard is it to put the 70-72 front grill in instead of the 74?? I know the hood will be different but plan to buy a Fiberglass one anyways!!

Does the Grill just bolt on... are they same??

Thanks

you have the header panel that goes across the front on a 74 , not so on a 72 , you would basically have to swap the whole 72 nose over to the 74 including the front bumper which you'll need to add the mount points for the 72 I am pretty sure as the bumpers mount differently.

The fenders are identical EXCEPT for the two tabs that support the steel panel that the grille attaches to. I took a 70-72 steel panel and extended the edges about 3/4" per side, then used a self tapping screw ro attach it to the underside of the fender on each side.
The 1974 model was a changeover year for bumper mounting degign. Early 1974 models had a traditional style bumper mount design. Then about mid year, the shock absorber design was integrated. My 74 FrankenDuster had the later design. To mimic the 70-72 design, I made a "nut-plate" and slid it inside the frame rail, then welded it in place. Now the bumper could be mounted like an earlier car.
