Had some leaking freeze plugs on this motor. its a 71 383. I got the easy ones out already but I have to jack up the motor and remove the engine mount to get to the other ones. These plugs measure out at 1 41/64. Is this correct? What ideas are out there to get the crap out of the block before I put the new ones in?

garden hose with a spray nozzle. Best would be to have one open on each side & as many open as possible

1 5/8 is the typical size. I like the deep cup rather than the shallow ones. If you have side plugs leaking the rear will not be far behind. Need to pull the engine or drop the transmission for these.

I think I got most of it out with a piece of h/d wire and a strong shop vac. Its currently dry inside, I drained out the water about a month ago. May still use the water hose idea as well. This is a big block no plugs on the back side right?
