I am building a clone, and have an original fiberglass hood. I understand the bezel holes are front to back, and side to side in 69, with the lanyard screwed to the inside hole. Are the other three holes screwed or riveted? I bought a kit and got 4 rivets and one screw per bezel, but I found some reference material suggesting 4 screws.

Thanks!

I also have the 6" lanyards that came with the kit. One end has a larger diameter "donut" on it, and each end has the same sized hole. Does the larger diameter end go under the rivet, with the other attaching the pins? This would seem to make more sense and look better, but not sure.

Thanks for the scoop!

The larger eyelet should have a larger hole for the "hairpin" clip. The smaller eyelet is for the rivet at the bezel. (Not a good repo lanyard if this is the case IMO).

Just what I needed. Thanks!

The smaller one will go under the rivet. In the orig. pic., it shows the lanyard facing away from the pin, whereas the top pic. shows it facing the pin. I'll go with away from.

Regarding the eyelet, my other end is big enough for the pin, to be mounted per the top pic.

My kit is from YO, and the pins are for horizontal mounting (incorrect), and not vertical as shown in all the pics. which must be correct.

Thanks again!

History of the above photos; The hood on the roof is the A12 at the W.P. Chrysler Museum and pretty sure it's an original bezel and lanyard but the lanyard may have been turned at some point in its life.

The next two photos are of my hood which is an original and I've see photos of a quite a few originals that the lanyard is turned out. In fact here is a photo from the April 1969 intro article for the A12 Road Runner showing the lanyard eyelete at the rivet turned out almost in the same direction as my original hood's lanyard.

Standup finger loop is correct for an A12 package Lift-Off-Hood "hairpin" clip. Here is an original (yep had to use a 1969 quarter for correctness )
