Since MP doesn't list duration at .050, making a comparison to the rest of the world is a little tuff; anyone put a .557 cam on a Cam doctor? What are the spec's?

Thanks!

Yeah, it's in the low-to-mid 250s @ .050".

If you run the MP-recommended .028" lash, it's going to act smaller than a similar duration solid designed to run .018-.020" lash, though.

The latest numbers are supposedly 257/257 at .050 for that cam.

When I measured the 557 for that cam article I came up with 256 @ .050. I figure being within one degree of advertised was about right.

I posted in anther thread that it was 251 @.050 But , then I thought I really dont remember where I got those numbers, I thought it was from a reputable source like Porter, or 451Jim.

I never measured it myself, but took that info as gospel. I need to go correct that.

I have however measured the .484/241, 509/248 and the .590/271 I think from now on I will only post what I actually measured.

Thumper! I'll take the blame for your misinformational post.

I am running the .557 in a BB it runs good in my car. But I want a more modern cam to get away from the lash having to be so loose. I like the lunati voodoo series personally but a full custom cam speced by an experienced engine builder might be best.

When I measured the MP .557 in my 451 a few years back, it was 256 @ .050. Not the 251 or so they advertised back then.
