Anyone else still waiting for parts ??? 2011 Ram Quad Cab - I got my recall notice last winter and have called the dealer three times now and still get the same answer - How long should we have to wait for parts ??? Until this happens

Almost tempted to crawl under there and pull the driveshaft myself - Maybe send Chrysler a bill for my time Like that would go over well

Still waiting here, got the recall notice last year for my 2010. No updates since, the local dealer went out of business so it will now be a 40 mile drive to get the repair when the parts are available.

Backordered parts with no ETA are the new accepted normal at chrysler. Gas tank vapor canister for my Shadow (still available which was suprising itself) Almost 300 units on B/O and no clue when they would be available. Found a dealership in Ohio that had one and secured it.

Had a rollover valve and grommet for fuel tank on order with the local place. Rollover valve was finally re-released after almost 2 years and the price went for $10 to $60! Best part of it all... The rubber grommet that has to go with it was discontinued and none available. Stupidity runs rampant at the company.

I received a coupon in the mail for a 24.95 oil change with free wiper blade replacement. I took them up on it and they tossed the wipers in the back seat, as I had new winter blades on. While there I asked about the recall. I got my notification back in May. They said the parts are finally being shipped out but they haven't received any as of yet{last Wednesday}.. Asked me to call back this week or next if I don't hear from them 1st.. We'll see. I'll call Thursday..

When you decide to quit, THAT is the moment when you would've succeeded..

Shouldn't the Feds step in if recalls aren't delt with in a timely manner ? Or is this a voluntary recall?

It is so discouraging to me as a Mopar employee when I hear about or read about all of the issues that should be recalled or supplier delays for the recall parts. It gets down right embarrassing sometimes that nothing is done in a timely manner or nothing is done at all.....

It would be such an excellent PR move if Chrysler or Daimler or Fiat or ??? would get off their ass....make good on the product and deliver!!!

As most everyone knows......none of these auto manufacturers make their own parts but are contracted out to independent companies and those independents are realistically responsible for the supply and quality of the part they are manufacturing but that doesn't leave Chrysler, Ford or Chevrolet free of fault as the are ultimately responsible for the product that they buy from the independents and then sold to the public.

I use to be in the CNC machine tool industry and know about the strict tolerances that independents are responsible to hold on every part that they make but if they have a machine that is making a bad part due to some sort of mechanical or electronic problem of that machine "and" or a machine operator that is not being paid squat, does not do his or her job correctly by not checking the tolerance of the parts before they leave their company....that part is shipped to Chrysler, Ford and Chevrolet and so on and causes such a long line of manufacturing problems and ultimately makes the auto maker look bad.......

If I didn't love the Mopar product so much.....not sure I would be in to cars as much as I am and have been??

Just wanted to update my status on the recall, the parts are finally available so I took my truck in Tuesday, they checked it and the nut was loose which caused rear gear wear. They are rebuilding the rear and put me in a 2013 Ram 1500 4x4 rental until it is completed. They had to order parts but said I should have it back Thursday.

So, as I read the recall letter the pinion nut loosens because the splines on the pinion gear are cut too small or the companion flange spline is too large and because the fit is loose, the pinion nut is over stressed and loosens. Since your rear axle is being rebuilt by the dealer to solve the problem, it is not just an issue of a poor quality nut This is an expensive recall for Chrysler and they probably had to fill the pipeline with complete sets of parts so that if a problem was discovered it would be fixed right the first and only time. Seems very responsible to me
