Guys,

My wife's 05 Town and Country 3.8 V6 has been giving us some issues. I hope you can help point me in the right direction on what to fix. Here's the symptoms:

* Intermittent noise from engine. Sounds like something caught in belts.

* Heat will not work properly. Intermittently doesn't blow hot.

* Slight Antifreeze smell in the cabin.

* Slight interior fogging of the windshield.

* Appears to be using antifreeze, but doesn't leak on driveway.

* Doesn't run hot.

Initially, my thinking is a bad heater core, but the carpet isn't wet that I can tell. Also, thought of a bad thermostat, or heater control valve.

Please let me know your thoughts and any trouble shooting ideas you have.

Thanks,
Randy

Didn't you read his post? * Appears to be using antifreeze, but doesn't leak on driveway.

But your heads was cracked and the smell was coming from you since you had not washed your rear end for 3 mos.

3 months ? ..... Is that your typical break from bathing ? ... But when was the last time your cave got flooded?

Heater core most definitely if the windshield is fogging up on the inside.

You don't see a wet spot because the coolant isn't making it out of the heater box ... yet ...

X2 Either the heater core is leaking (likely) or a fitting/nipple very close to it (way less likely) that's letting coolant leak into the air ductwork which is why youre seeing the misting. I'd loop off the heater hoses at the eng ASAP then make plans to pull the box or have it done. Winters' a comin

X3 Only time I see windshields fog/missing coolant,etc.

P.S. Doc and Oldman need to take the B.S somewhere else. This member is asking for help....not the BS you guys always get into. You already have a thread dedicated to that crap.

Thanks Guys. I drove it after I made the post and there is definitely a bearing going bad somewhere in the engine compartment. Which one, I don't know just yet. 131K miles on it. Wish I could say it's been relatively trouble free until now, but it hasn't.
