Someone figured out how to mate a GM HEI cap/coil/pick up assy to a Ford bottom shaft assy. Had a friend go thru 2 on his Ford. Top bushing seized twice on two different units and it somehow grabbed hold of the pick up unit/ring and ripped it off its base. Cost him two races...

dvw master Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 9,844 MI, usa	Looks like a 440 source one I have. I welded the advance,removed the electrics, and use it with a crank trigger. No problems w/ misfire, shaft isn't sloppy, looks nice, cap fits good. 9.27@146 Doug

Like most of the other big companies, a lot of their much higher priced stuff is made there also.

Is the cap the same as the MSD or not ? Just thinking ahead when it come time to buy a new cap and rotor for it. Also is the overall length the same as the MSD or a Mopar unit ? I have clearance issues whit an airgrabber hood, I cannot use a tall dist.

But seriously folks, I know of one of these in a stroker PHORD that goes 11.60's @ 3500#, driven almost every day 60+ miles to work and back. Been doing it for a few months now...very reliable so far. I'm going to get one just because of the price and try it out. Won't throw my MP dizzy away...but for the price??? Ummmmm yea!
