I really am tired of the juniors and all the time and space (car, golf cart w/pullback, starter, 2-3 people each) it takes to run that class. The kids are the most pro of them. Mama and the other 2 kids tend to be the worst.
Also, you sure don't want to get pitted in amongst a bunch of them, they have to be one of the most obnoxious-sounding pieces of machinery on the planet!

Well they have a national event that is going to be run there in 4 weeks. Sure hope they can get all the issues ironed out by then. They have had a number of months to this point and with only 4 weeks left I am well a bit skeptical it will go off smoothly. Told my wife yesterday I plan on it being more of a cluster than usual for the National and Divisional races. Oh well what ya gonna do other than hope they get it all ready.

BTW I cannot imagine how you can race with no prestage lites. I know I would be taking FOREVER to stage if I were racing. That's alot of bumping with only one lite working.

We have an issue (mostly dragsters) at PRP where they do their burn-out and back just thru the fully staged bulbs (1-2 inches) and the second you prestage they bump in real quick. Legal yes, but in my eyes very unsportsmen like. They always hold up the door cars in the water box but that won't be happening to me this year.

Yeah that is not the most sportmanlike way to do things. However for those who do it you and you know it I cannot see it being an issue. OR you can come up with your own strategy to not allow them to do it such as stage while they back up..

Here is my take on the Friday night opening. It should have been postponed. The track was not ready to open. None of the systems were properly checked. They knew there were issues that they could not fix in time. Those of us that have worked there for a long time know how to make things work. Unfortunately the new management has no experience and unfortunately it showed. I knew things would be bad when they waited until Wednesday to see which of us could work. When I got there things were not any better. I had to argue with one of the supposed security people(I don't know where the got them, but they were clueless)who would not let me in unless I pad an entry fee. After trying several times to convince him that I am an employee trying to get to work I just drove past him.
For those that came to race, all I can say is I am sorry for the disorganization and the fact that the electrical systems did not work. Given the opportunity, I am sure we, the workers, can and will make things better.
On a brighter note, NHRA, and not the track, will be in charge for the National, and hopefully Divisional event. I will be racing at those events, and I hope all goes well.

Yes the NHRA will be in charge for the National event, but timing issues and PA system problems will be an issue if not fixed by the track beforehand. The NHRA brings in sound for the fans but not the racers, that is using the tracks PA. For the division it is race run the track but, ie ticketing parking etc. The NHRA runs tech and the actual track surface but the track will be in charge of the rest. Hope it all goes well. I will be there for both no matter.

I'm going to email them and ask some questions before I go to the effort to try it again.
The again thing is next Saturday - if you are racing the summit series. No excuse for things like the staging lane screw-ups - and not even having the lanes numbered. Bottom line, the racers ( who are paying the track wages ) got dumped on a bit. People that worked there knew they weren't ready. Gotta assume management did also.
I was trying to explain to management why they needed the "slick lane" access because the street tire cars had the lanes clogged up… but I have no idea if my "suggestions" were even heard. Unfortunately - there WILL be a learning curve. Hopefully we won't suffer thru too many mistakes as the new management learns what it's all about. They HAVE people who know how it's supposed to work - but there appears to be zero listening to them. Hopefully they will get the electronics and timeslip printer issues worked out in the next week.

I wish you luck getting a response. I work there and they do not respond to my phone calls or emails.
