I have been calling around getting recommendations on a new carb lately and received the following suggestions. What do you think would be best for my set-up?

'72 Cuda Street car with a trip or two to track a year. 440, 727, 3600 stall vert, manual valve body, OOTB Eddy Alum heads, 10:1 compression, Eddy RPM Dual Plane, 3.55 gear, 28" tire, .494/.513 lift cam, 226/234 @ .050, rpm range 1800-6200

I wanted to go with mechanical secondaries and no choke.

Quick Fuel: Q-850 or Q-850AN
AED: 750HO or 750HOM
Pro Systems: 950HP based carb flowing 830-840cfm
BLP: 950HP based carb
FBO Systems (Don Gould): Q-750 (said the Q-850 may pick up a couple hundredths on the big end but since I am only bracket racing and do more street driving the Q-750 will be much more responsive)

'72 440 Cuda
11.673 @ 115.91 w/1.663 60'

I agree with the 750 carb. It's a small cam and that engine will never use all of the available CFM. My guess is it would use around 630-640 CFM at peak HP. The 750 fits the bill. I would also consider a vacuum secondary carb for a street driver. The Quickfuel series has easy adjustability and gives up nothing compoared to the double pumper. How do I know, I've dyno tested them on combo's almost identical to yours. The smaller carb will also have crisper throttle response and better overall driveability that a larger unit. When you're only going to the track a couple times a year, throw that out the window and pick what will give you the best performance for the application.

I would go with a 750 to 850... myself I would go 850
which I did on my 416... still has great throttle
response and flows very well in the upper rpms for
the track, mine is street/strip car also
EDIT
looking at your conv stall ...n you would be better off
with the 750
