I would like to convert my '68 Sport Fury to manual steering. I know that the C Body & B Van steering boxes are different than the A/B steering boxes.

Is there an adapter available for this conversion or do I need to swap in a manual steering column? I understand that the manual steering column in a C Body is longer than a power steering column.

I know that the A/B column to manual steering box adapter will not work.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Bill

i made my adapter on my 73 newport.
i used part of an aftermarket steering shaft from an 80s dodge truck welded to mine, worked great. easy to get on and off since it is made to slide
i bought the steering shaft at the junk yard for $5

Was that part out of a pickup or a van?

4 wheel drive pickup, aftermarket, replaces the original shaft with the square box style coupler that always craps out on the trucks.
new their like $190
i've used other ujoint style couplers from k-cars and stuff like that to convert other cars.
splines are the same alot of the time, and the ujoint syle seems eliminate one potential source of slop.

Is the 68 same as a 65 or are they different?

67 Coronet 500 9.610 @ 139.20 mph
67 Coronet 500 (street car) 14.82 @ 94 mph
69 GTX (clone) - build in progress......

Mark,

'65 and '68 use the same steering boxes.
