My cruise switch broke and is loose, but still on the wheel. I'm guessing some little plastic tab broke. Can I easily change this? Or is this a $4500 dealership removes airbag fix to get to the 2 little screws? Thanks guys.

You can do it yourself. Been awhile since I took apart my Dakota steering wheel, I don't remember if you have to remove the airbag first, but there's 2 screws that hold the switches in place, located on the back side of steering wheel if I remember correctly. Or maybe the screws for the airbag were on the back and the hardware for switches was under the airbag.

Just unhook the battery for a few minutes then look for hardware to remove. It wasn't that hard to do, and nothing blew up in my face.

Remove the 2 airbag bolts from the back of the wheel and the Torx (T15 I think) head screws for the cruise switches will be revealed. Remember to unhook battery for 15 minutes or so as a precaution. It's an easy breezy job.

There was a TSB on the air bag.Ma wanted you to hook it up.Then with key on put the neg battery cable on.I guess they had a few blow when techs hooked the battery up first then reached inside to turn the key on.Ive never had one go off but you never know.Rocky
