ladder bar = panhard bar, wishbone or a Watts link

4 link = diagonal link

Alston Chassisworks or Art Morrisin also has both systems.. look at Morrisons site, there is a lot of good info there.

A ladder bar system would take less construction than a 4 link system

theres also 2 different types of 4 link

1 is the equal length drag race style

2 is the diagonal 4 link that somewhat resembles the GM suspension used on the Ce\hevelle/Malibus ect..

I am truckless..

How about getting the parts from the junkyard? The new Ram trucks use coil springs, 4 link setup. And if you could find a R/T truck, you would have a 4:10 gear to boot.

The type of locating device depends on the builder

I've used both ladder & 4 link & really the choice is depending on how fast & how much $$$

I've found some pics that didn't get burnt in the fire. They're some of the build pics of my 73 Shorty Pro Streeter with 14-32X15 Goodyears on it.
It had ladder bars & coilovers from Art Morrison

Art Morrison is the only one who offers a truck rear half kit that fits

I'm getting a bunch of old pics together to have scanned.

Dont forget you can also do a simple ladder bar with leafsprings (Uses factory springs, so no locator bar needed)

This is a cheap, easy way to add more traction and lift.
