Stock '75 dart /6 with the 1bbl. I want to exorcise ALL the emmissions crap and just run a normal 1bbl carb without all the vacuum hose mess. What is the best carb to run for this and/or what year car do I spec at the parts store?

What was the last year before they started all the emmissions junk? Also what should I be running for ignition timing? It's at 6* BTC and it runs like crap.

I am no slant expert, but I would say your best bet would be to find a second-hand 2 Barrel intake manifold. The 2 barrel Carter's were Cr-ap so I would look for a 350 Holley and re-kit that.I am not sure if 75 Slant's had lean-burn ignition but if it does have(lean-burn)it has to go.Non lean-burn and you are good to go already;just bump up your initial and limit your internal advance to avoid detonation.

actually 73/74 was a bad year for emission controls/mods from gov't regs causing driveability problems & 75 was alot better. I'd get the timing up even to 10 or more & check the basics
