Dwayne, what valves to the EZ's use? Stock length and stem? Or are they longer with smaller stems?

they come with 2.19/1.81-11/32 stem valves, about 5.350" long.
same pieces used in the 440-1 and SR's, and as with those heads, the EZ's will also accept a 2.25 intake valve.

So the only catch for stock upgrades is you gotta have a big mouth intake?

Actually, fast68 did not ask that prices not be posted... he said he prefered not to give prices of HIS inventory due to the many variables involved. The prices I listed where direct from Indy. So whats the deal, is this fast68's personal marketplace or what? Prices are quoted for other stuff here all the time.

So how good is the standard manifold opening head?

FWIW, i had no problem with the ICH prices being posted, and had no part in the prices being removed from this thread.

one thing i should mention about these heads and the basic pricing is, the advertised prices for these heads is with the std equipment, and no upgrades.
the heads come standard with single springs(like a Comp 911), stamped 7deg locks, 7deg retainers, and umbrella seals.
if you get them from Indy, and dont ask for anything different, this is how they would come.

all of the sets i get for my stock will have 10deg retainers and locks, dual springs for either a .650 lift solid or roller cam, and premium valve seals.
these are $100 worth of upgrades if you bought the heads from ICH.
obviously, premium roller valve springs and titanium retainers are also available for specific applications.

okay....i had a chance to tweek the valve job and bowls on the std EZ head, and i have the CNC295's here now as well.

here is the std EZ with the valve job corrected, valves back cut, and the bowls blended.
on the intake this was worth nothing in terms of the "big number", but it did help in the lower and mid-lifts.
the exhaust responded a bit better, and is now not bad at all.

for sure, this is the easiest of the std port opening, 300+ cfm heads available.

here are the numbers for the CNC295's, right OOTB.
the intake valve comes with a back cut on these, and i have a feeling based on the .100 lift flow numbers, that the contact pattern between the head and valve may be hanging off the inside edge of the valve.
out of curiosity i'll lap one in prior to recutting the seats and see if this is the case or not.
also, on the exhaust, the transition from the valve job into the bowl has a rather obvious edge that i think is costing the exhaust flow a few CFM.
i'll be retesting the head after the seat work is done.

so, the big number isnt "wonderful", but the mid lift is really good on these intake ports.
i dont know this for sure(i'll have to ask next time i'm talking with ICH), but i believe this is the same intake port program as for the SR CNC295.
so, for the low deck guys(or guys who dont have headers for their B and E bodies yet), this intake port with the taller, higher flowing SR exhaust port should be a really nice combination.

so are the cnc 295s worth the extra cost,whats the better numbers in the mid range mean at the track when do you think you will have every thing ready for me the snow is melting fast around here.

Jim, the EZ-1 exhaust port has the short turn CNC'd, and the std EZ does not.
basically, i just fixed the valve job and made the std EZ exhaust short turn about the same as the EZ-1(which is why it basically flows the same now).
i knew i wasnt going to be doing much modifying to the std EZ's, and wanted to get them ready to deliver in case someone was eager for a set , so thats what i did yesterday(as well as flow test a bunch of heads).

also, nice little chart.
i wasnt really too concerned with the intake flow on the std EZ's, but the exhaust is kinda weak OOTB.
i was hoping that would show a worthwhile gain from the prep work...which it did, and i think it helps balance out the intake/exhaust ratio.

i just have to tweek the valve job, and then these will be ready to go.
should have them on the motor sometime this week, then its off to the dyno.
on this "mild" 448, i dont think the CNC porting will be worth all that much.....but you'll already have it when you step up to the 499 next time around.

Can you post a basic CSA for the CnC head????

Just H x W, forget the radius, .. at the push rod pinch, ..the
short turn apex and 1/2 between the two.

Based on the flow numbers, .. and the other Indy CnC stuff
I've seen, I'll bet the short turn isn't right.
