Took my 904 out for some detailing and a 6K governer weight. Checked the bands, adjusted the rear to 4 turns, front to 2 turns (4.2) lever (B &M Transpak). Put the deal back in, and .... P, R , N all fine. Put it in D or 2 it feels like its in high gear. Pull down to 1st and it takes off fine. However, it will shift into 2 or 3 from first like a man valve body.
Did I screw up the giverner weight somehow? This was a working trans before. Any advice?
Thanks

Taking off in a gear other than 1st is a governor problem, if the governor pressure is too high at a standstill the trans will think it's traveling at road speed and shift to a higher gear.
Go back into the tailhousing and check the governor installation, be sure the valve and weight are free to move.
