This one is what I have or just like it. The top cover is just touching the top of the hood when I close it. I had to put a thin foam from scrapping the inside hood. 71' cuda Shaker hood. Suggestions?

That master you posted is more at home on a B or C body application,....your better of ordering a master for an E body application as the resv. won't be that high

IIRC your doing an offset HEMI Bendix booster on your E body?....is the "numbers correct" master important? ($$$$$), or just somewhat correct in appearance, but functional as well?

If I was choosing one for a HEMI E body application using a HEMI Bendix booster, appearance wise and function wise for a power disc/drum application I would use a Fenco pn# M1628...readily available from any part store that carries the Fenco line....It's also available in the Cardone and NAPA system under 10-1628

Thanks Dayclona. OEM appearance on it would be nice. But not a $1,000 nice worth doing. I'll check into getting the one you recommend.

Mike, here's the M1628....personally I'd use Fenco or NAPA, Cardone as a rebuilder of used and supplier of new masters is a 50/50 shot at best of getting the 1. correct master, and 2. a working unit

thanks Dayclona

It looks very close to the one in the picture I showed above. From what I gathered from Ramman's website is: The E body version is 7/10" lower in height to get the hood clearance.

However I'm not an expert on bendix master cylinders so take it with a grain of salt.

He sells clones for $450. I would rather put money right now into getting the car rolling/running right now and perhaps upgrade it to either modified or correct at a later time.

I noticed the lid is different on the Raybestos and the OEM BTW. Are those available?

..make sure the master cylinder piston size is appropriate.
..but i'm sure you have thought of this.

Yes, the master 1628 I recommended to Topcat is actually for a 71 E body application (also fits 72-4) using factory power assisted front discs and rear drums for a B engine application, it has an 1 1/32 bore....the factory correct HEMI master has a 1 1/8" bore, stroke is relatively the same
