Well we finally got the truck back on the ground yesterday. Made new trans crossmember for the 727 and also fabbed up some bracing for front crossmember we had to cut for the trans to fit. Will be boxing in frame and tying the front member into that soon. Need to find a slip yoke so I can get a driveshaft made for it. Pull the tranny to put the flexplate in converter in the trans and trans back in so we can work on the shifter. Flipped the rear axle, notched the frame and boxed all that in. We will keep plugging away at it. Not looking to spend a lot of this thing and so far so good. Just some steel and time. Here is a bad pic I took after getting it on the ground.

Looking good Don't leave it outside too long, the Count might show up and want to buy it

I told Al to put a hoodie sleave on his head and start his own Las Vegas show....

for now we'll have to settle for "over-Al-in"

Well as J knows the truck has assumed it's usual location for now. I need a driveshaft and this is certainly project low buck. SO until I can locate a slip yoke or complete driveshaft it will again be sitting for awhile again. Hopefully I can locate a yoke or complete shaft soon.

Not positive, but a c body shaft would have the 727 yoke, and a mid 70s one, or all I've ever had , had the small u joint. Would be long enough, just shorten it.
Love the sweptlines!

Yep small joint 8 3/4. If I could locate a yoke I think I can just have the old 4 speed shaft shortened and use it?

front slip yoke? or the rear yoke? I've got a small joint 727 slip yoke.....somewhere. Might be fun finding that one!

Slip yoke..The original driveshaft for the 4 speed uses a different slip yoke and is longer than what is needed for an auto. If i had a slip yoke could get the stocker shaft shortened.
