The car has autolite 3924 in it now. Im having issues with it busting up and wondered if I had the right plug. I have replaced the cap, rotor, wires, plugs are new, and even tried a different coil, no help. It doesnt do it during the burn out ( no load )
1st pass is always the worst, it gets better but never goes away. The motors a flat top 360 with indy heads, solid cam ,m1 intake, QF 850
throw out some thoughts, It will be 2wks before I run it again, thanx

"busting up" as in misfiring? More firings will always get worse plug wise (albeit very slowly) from carbon/deposits but never better so I'd think the problem is elsewhere. More runs=gets hotter=maybe the mixture straightens out (A/F ratio gets closer to where it should be & it's off now when not warmed up). If the plugs are poor quality made overseas same thing they would stay the same or get worse never better & sharp edges on a new plug the ground/center electrodes have a lower required voltage needed to jump the gap/fire=less likely to misfire. EDIT check rotor phasing and rotor distance to cap terminal.

Thanks guys, Indy lists champion C57CX, so Ill try a set. I was hoping to see what others were running just to be curious. I simply replaced what the P/O had. (it was busting up with him also) I will check the distance from rotor to cap also, Ill have to research rotor phasing (dont know what it is ) Im also going to run a new ignition wire and redo the ground on the MSD just to cross that off the list. Oh, fuel pressure never drops below 6.5 during the run. It will be at least 2 or 3 wks before I run again, so I got plenty of tinkering time

I was told 10.5 I bought the car turn key Its a 69 Dart I owned from 82 to 96, sold to due starting a family etc (priorities) I re-bought last summer, the car sat up several years due to P/O loss of interest in it. I figured it was picking up because of busting up less, but, that could be due to cooler outside temps ( being rich ) Its been a challenge to say the least, but it gives me something to do

if it is only 10 to 1 go with 61 champs and try a couple less jet sizes. I'm sure RC12YC's would work well with that compression too and foul way way less. What carb and jetting??
