OK, so I have my single four barrel setup for sale and am going with two fours. Not a lot available for a 392 Hemi. A Weiand 7263 dual plane good from 2,000 rpm to 6,800 rpm, and the Hot Heads single plane good from 2,800 to 7,800. I have a good idea what I think will work best for what I want the car to do but I would appreciate some input from you guys.

The car is a 34 Dodge Highboy coupe, 392 Hemi, 4 speed, 3.23 gears, and full lenght headers. It has 10 to 1 comp, and a Howards .459 lift, 280 duration cam.

It will be completely street driven with an occasional cleaning of the combustion chambers. It will never see 7,000 rpm. The only reason I am thinking of possibly using the Hot Heads intake is because the car has a 4 speed and would tolerate the single plane better than an auto would.

Any thoughts?

Arno

Actually, in EMC dyno testing, the single 4 HH intake you are selling (with calibrated carb) made better power than each of the others you listed.

I've been told that before. I don't doubt it but would love to see the numbers if anyone has them or knows where to find them. Is the differrence 5hp or 30hp. To me a Hemi just looks naked with one four barrel on it.

I decided to go with the Wieand dual quad manifold. I've got it up and running on the car with a pair of Edelbrock 500 cfm carbs. I was trying to figure out what to run for an air cleaner. I looked at a lot of air cleaners that are made for dual quads and nothing jumped out at me. Then I thought of a couple of velocity stacks with the foam filter but the carbs are to close together. So I picked up a couple of 6 1/2" diameter air cleaners. This is the setup I will probably run most of the time. I then found a scoop from a boat at a swap meet and decided to pick it up for $20. I modified the base to fit my carb spacing and will run this setup to change things up from time to time. It's a bit over the top but then so are the rear tires! What do you guys think? Too much?

First pic is the air cleaners. Second is the scoop.

Thanks guys! I do like the boat scoop better myself, I just thought it might be to much. The good news is that the two small air cleaners fit inside the scoop!

Sure the scoop is big, but it matches the rest of the car I'd go for the scoop on that car, it just looks right. Gene

Maybe tape off some stripes and blast it to match the valve covers.

I liked this one too but didn't feel it went with the rest of my car. It looks like you have the four barrels on progressive linkage. Is that right and how does it work with that manifold? I wouldn't think it would get even fuel distribution.

Any 2 X 4 setup is gonna get better fuel distribution with straight linkage but most factory setups were progressive; running the rear carb as the primary. In my case, there was less throttle response with the progressive.
