Well I decided on what tires to use. I went with the Continental Extreme Contact DW. I'm going to try and run a 285/40/18 square setup. I test fit them on the front and rear yesterday and they seem like they fit nice. I still have to lower the car and do all my suspension upgrades but just trying to get my tire fitment nailed down. Here are a few pics of it.

Nice, proof will be when you get out there and run thru some tight turns at speed. Short sidewalls should help keep tire deflection under control.

Nice pics, cool car and great intentions! Can you tell us the rim specs... brand, width, back spacing... and weight of the rims if that's known, too?

Don't do any trimming on the front until it gets completed and aligned with some negative camber etc. You'll be surprised what you get away with. Looks great with all that meat. I assume those are 18x10's with around 6.5" bs?

Mopar to the bone!!!

Wheels are OE Wheels FR500 Mustang Replicas. They are 18x10 with 6.37 back spacing. The center hub is just a little small so I have a .250 spacer on front and rear. Once I get the car to the ride height that I want I will play with spacing more. This isn't the exact wheel that I wanted for the car but being on a budget and at only $135 each shipped, you can't beat it. I'm building this as my family cruzier, but want to be able to play to.

I will be there just not sure the car will be. I have the back glass coming out so I can fix a few pin holes around rubber. I'm not sure if I will have that fixed in time. I only live about 10-15 minutes from there.

Can you turn the wheels lock to lock without contact?

My 65 Belvedere has a 245/45-18 up front. It rubs the front of the rail, the rear of the rail, and will barely brush the outside of the fender when turning into a driveway.

I'm not sure if the inside rubbing is due to the K frame and steering swap or if the car is simply maxed out.

There's not much difference between your car and mine.

It looks like it may rub around full lock. I haven't got the suspension and ride height where I want it so I have just looked at this a little. I have some room to play with spacing if needed.

Those FR 500's look great! One of these days I want to try my 19" GT 500 wheels on one of my old cars to see who they look.

Regarding the window, Its not going to rain, and with those tires you should be able to out run the rain.

Wonder if height plays as much or more of a roll in frame rail rub?

I haven't played around enough yet with my Cuda, as I'm stalled out in the body work stage, but on my Dakota, I can say that the lower you go, the smaller tire you have room for.

or in other words, as you lower the vehicle more, there is less and less room for big wide tires up front.

Your car looks fantastic with those tires.

I can't believe you got them to fit. My 66 Coronet is maxed out with 255/45/18 and 18x8 with 5.5 backspace. It rubs on the right front rear subframe rail occasionally at full lock with some suspension compression.
