Can't get adjustment right on Carb kickdown to engage passing gear.

shorten the rod. keep track of the # of turns so you can return to your baseline (if need be)

How about doing it the way the service manual calls for. You get that stuff out of whack, you can burn up the trans.

Don't have service manual have 67 cuda 273 auto. how does the service manual say to do it?

Actually he would want to lengthen the rod. You want to tell the transmission your foot is more-to-the-floor. That will increase shift points, and increase frequency of downshifting to 2nd.

If the linkage is stock, you put a #2 screw driver through the holes in the bel crank. Then if someone can look it up for you, you adjust the rod ends per what they say.But the bel crank needs to be where it needs to be.Thats the way they designed the system to work.

First off, does it have the stock carb or aftermarket? If aftermarket, you need the correct Mopar throttle lever extension to make the linkage work correctly.
