The air filter itself is the hard part to get now. There is a bad repop available. Do a completed auction search on ebay for CA332V. That is an eye opener.

Dave

What's the problem with the re-pop? I was about ready to pull the trigger on one.

One of the issues is the size of the holes in the metal around the element are bigger than original.

That would've been great, ... if the hole size was the only problem.

Make sure there's a good return policy.

As far as positioning the decal, it looks like the only place it fits is to the rear of the cover, behind the formed peak.
Joe

P.S. I now have available a 3" high K&N oval filter, (un-used) for someone with a hood scoop or otherwise usable clearance.

New they are about $85, I will sell for $45, plus shipping.

Thanks

Ok, I have a question, who and why started calling these "Six Pack" Filters ?

This is the same filter that you would use with any Air Grabber or RamCharger 383 or 440 car, and also any Hemi car with fresh air, is this correct ? I think so.

Glad to be of service , your question was a little silly , I doubt anyone here knows who started calling it a SIX PACK FILTEr ... if anything it should be called a HEMI filter since 6pks didn't come out till after febuary of 69 , hemis first day of production ... ...

Do you really think they would get as much $$$ if they were just called Ramcharger/Air Grabber filters ???

Yes,,, and no,

All Hemis with the air grabber hood were oval air filters

383 and 440 engines and single 4 barrel with the air grabber 1970 thru 1972 were round elements , shown

Man those current repop oval filters look TERRIBLE!

I think I'm going to put my new correct repop oval filters back away in case I need them.

Would it be possible to gently pull apart a used correct oval filter?
You could remove the old dirty pleats and install new ones then re-assemble it?

Jlatesse hooked me up with a deal on a 3" tall K&N oval filter which fits perfectly under the T/A hood on my Challenger.

Thanks Joe

I knew the answer Bill, I was just making a point that six-pacs were the only engine that was equipped with the ovals.
