Hi. Have a 1973 D100 Adventurer 360 727 auto. My goal is to convert the truck to a 833OD trans. I have most of the conversion pieces ie: Transmission, correct bell housing with clutch fork, truck unique shifter bracket, shifter and shift rods clutch&brake pedal set, pedal to Z-bar pushrod, etc (I have done 6 or so cars in the past 15 years so familar with the process) My questions regard the clutch linkage/Zbar bracket area: Are they the same for a 833 trans as the NP435 trans? Also what ball stud type bracket (or none?) is used on the 833OD bell housing in this application. I believe the 833OD trans trucks started in 1975? I checked my local yards for donors but no 833OD trucks, only a few NP435 trucks for me to pick parts from. Thanks

There are 2 brackets. 1 is for the /6 and the other for the v8. I modified my /6 bracket to work on my v8 swap. The bolt pattern is the same but the ball location is different. Mine is at an angle but it does work..

I am truckless..

My experience going from a230 to a833od in my 72.

Looking around, the bracket that bolts to the frame SEEMED the same between the 3 and 4 speeds. When looking for a frame mounted bracket, another member measured his from an a833 truck, quick measured the same as an np435 truck in the pick a part. All these measurements were from a 72 (mine) 77(? A833 truck) and a 75(? 435 truck) they may have changed when the body lines changed.

Pivot point on the bell housing. On the side of the bell housing, is a large bolt. There is a separate bracket that bolts to this giant bolt and then to an engine to trans bolt. This bracket sets the angle of the zbar correctly. Without it, your zbar will be lower on the trans side. I'll dig up a pic if I can
