My son took our '96 Dakota 318 4x4 to Auto Zone to get a code for the check engine light. Besides the misfire on #1 he got a transmission temperature sensor code.

How much of a pain is it to replace the sensor. Dropping the pan requires lifting the engine since it hits on something under there. It's been 10 years since I was going to change the filter and ended up taking it in.

Trans was rebuilt two years ago and has maybe 5000 on it.

The misfire is probably related to one of the boys running out of gas since the thing runs great. Probably could use an injector cleaner.

Thanks

Clear the codes and drive it normally to see if it was a fluke.
