The snout of the bearing retainer on my 4 speed broke off clean at the base, I noticed it when I was trying to push the clutch fork back to the rear to install the clutch linkage, When I pushed rearward on the fork I can see the TO bearing move forward contacting the forks on the pressure plate. The piece that broke off moves with the TO bearing. The only thing we did was rotate the crank to tighten the pressure plate bolts. Now, I need to pull the tranny and see what's up. Any suggestions?

turn the heat on a half hour before you start taking in out... oh yea,,, you need to jack the car up too...

It's up on the rack and I have a tranny jack as well

yep,I had one that broke once too

my shifter would shake and have a bad vib 2-3 gear

unreal noise and vibs,I think it was from the "tube" in the t-o bearing riding on the input shaft and wanting to spin in the t-o bearing

stoped when I replaced the bearing retainer

mine snaped at the base also and was just in the t-o bearing
