I thought I'd run this by the people on the board. I'm selling an 833OD tranny from a 76 slant6 Volare to someone who wants to put it in his /6 1967 Dart. I'm including with it the bellhousing, shift rods, shifter, and driveshaft (for the different yoke size). His Dart has the manual 3 speed tranny in it now. I'm assuming his Dart has the short tailshaft tranny. I want to make sure this will work for him so he has a usable setup. Anything I'm forgetting. Thanks.

Clutch safety start switch, maybe?

I think the reverse shifter rod for F- and M-bodies use is different from any other body, so that may not work for his/her '67.

It could be the reverse rod on the manual 3 speed tranny currently in the car would work on the OD tranny. I'm just trying to be sure it's a do-able swap so he won't feel I sold him a setup that wouldn't work. Thanks

No, with a 3-speed manual trans, the reverse and 1st rod is shared, as is the 2/3 rod.

It's definitely do-able. There's someone over at slantsix.org adding the same trans to an early A-body- check out the Trans & Rearend section.

The shift fork is also different. OD4 only.
The pivot point for the fork is farther away from the crank/transmission centerline due to the large diameter 5-1/8" transmission pilot.

I'm also giving him the z-bar for the setup which might help on the fork alignment. I'll have to see if I have the original fork. Thanks.
